Program Description

Accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) and guided by an employers’ panel (including the NHS), this course is a great asset to your professional development.

You’ll have the opportunity to tailor your studies by choosing a specialist pathology area. Through this you can either enhance your knowledge and understanding of your current field, or open up a career path into a new area such as management. Our tutors will teach you through our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), where you can download study materials, organise your studies and access online classrooms and study groups. This course is offered only part-time.

Notes:

Main requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree in biomedical science or equivalent.
  • Applicants should be employed in an appropriate laboratory to support learning and the project.

Other accepted qualifications:

  • HNC with bridging course, or HNC plus laboratory experience.
  • A recognised pre-masters course.
  • Holders of the Metaptychion Spoudon Diploma (Master's degree) or higher qualifications will also be considered.

Alternative English language requirements:

  • Our preferred tests are IELTS, TOEFL iBT (with 88 overall and a minimum of 17 in Writing and Listening, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking) and Pearson PTE (with 61 overall and a minimum of 51 in all components), so we recommend you take one of these if possible. We also recognise the following qualifications/tests:
  1. Trinity College: Integrated Skills in English (ISE)
  2. LanguageCert International ESOL SELT tests
  3. International English Language Competency Assessment (IELCA)

  • If you don't meet our English language requirements, we offer a range of courses which could help you achieve the level required for entry. We also provide our own English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT) in the UK and overseas.
