University of Sunderland Tuition Fees

Tuition fees differ depending on whether you are a full-time or part-time student, as well as between courses. Students from the United Kingdom and the European Union can pay in full or in three or seven installments. For the academic year 2022-2023, EU students pay the same fees as UK students.

University of Sunderland Scholarships

At the University of Sunderland, we want people with the capacity and capability to learn to be able to access higher education, no matter what their background or personal circumstances. Our generous scholarships and bursaries are financial awards that do not have to be paid back.

Through our scholarships, we recognize and reward the academic achievements of our students or the promise they show in a specific subject area. Some scholarships are linked to courses or philanthropic donors. Through our bursaries, we support students from groups underrepresented in higher education, who we identify as being in the most financial need.

University of Sunderland Bachelor's

An undergraduate degree is a bachelor's level academic qualification. Undergraduate degrees can vary in duration and there is a wide range of subjects available to study. Typically, you’ll study for an undergraduate degree for three years, however, you may study for four if you choose to undertake a placement year or study abroad. We teach many bachelor’s honors degrees with titles including:

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA (Hons))
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc (Hons))
  • Bachelor of Engineering (BEng (Hons))
  • Bachelor of Law (LLB (Hons))

University of Sunderland Master's

A postgraduate degree or a master's is a course you can study once you have achieved your undergraduate degree. We offer taught postgraduate degrees and research postgraduate degrees which can be studied both full and part-time. You could even learn online and study a distance learning course. Examples of taught postgraduate degrees include:

  • Master of Arts (MA)
  • Master of Science (MSc)
  • Master of Engineering (MEng)
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Master of Laws or Latin Legum Magister (LLM)

University of Sunderland Campus

Sunderland has a rich history and one of the UK’s lowest costs of living. City Campus is at the center of our modern city, and is home to our main administration and support services, library, lecture halls, and our excellent sports facilities at CitySpace. It is also the center for the University’s Arts and Design courses and home to our main Sciences provision, housing our world-famous Pharmacy School, our Living Labs, our School of Nursing, and the newly-established School of Medicine.

University of Sunderland Library

The University has two state-of-the-art libraries: The Murray Library and St Peter's Library. The Murray Library is open 24 hours a day and St Peter's Library until midnight during term time. The University's library resources include books, journals, and e-books, and provide extensive online support.

Library services offer access to excellent resources and the support and skills you need to make the best use of them. Each library houses fantastic subject collections for you to borrow while a considerable range of books, journals, and module resources are available online. The Library also has a range of well-designed and flexible quiet, individual, and group learning spaces to suit your varied study needs.
