Program Description

The Master of Arts in Humanities is a 2-year, internationally accredited program offering a modern and interdisciplinary education in humanities. You will earn a globally recognized American and European M.A. degree.

The M.A. in Humanities program engages students in innovative intellectual work. In small, interactive classes, students learn to apply analysis and research methods from the social sciences, arts, literature, cultural and religious worldviews, and philosophy.

The two-year Master of Arts in Humanities program offers an applied approach to the practice of humanities. Students develop academically and professionally as they become experts in humanistic work, including visual culture, arts, and cultural management, popular culture and media theory, modern intellectual history, and advanced literary studies and critique.

Anglo-American University’s international faculty is a great resource to students looking for a cross-cultural and interdisciplinary humanities program in Prague. The M.A. in Humanities is also ideal for students who are looking to strengthen their candidacy for Ph.D. programs, and for those looking for an alternative to MFA programs.

Beyond the classroom, you can also join student clubs like Model UN and Film Club, discuss current political issues with professors and local experts at an event like ‘Professors in the Pub’ or stop by one of our movie nights or poetry readings in the Library featuring professors and internationally published authors.

AAU’s Career Center also connects students with numerous professional internships in the Czech Republic and abroad every year.
