Program Description

The master in Product Development, Assistive Technology (Engineers) (MASTech) focuses on innovative product development of assistive devices for individuals with disabilities. It requires a combination of medical and engineering knowledge. As such, the program is open to students with backgrounds in prosthetics and orthotics or mechanical engineering (Prosthetist/Orthotists).

Students in the master in Product Development, Assistive Technology (Engineers) (MASTech) will link theory to industrial practice by completing several projects addressing problems identified by industry partners, and by doing an industrial placement. They also will have a close collaboration with users of assistive technologies as well as companies involved in the manufacture and supply of assistive devices.

Graduates with a master in Product Development, Assistive Technology (Engineers) (MASTech) will be prepared for a career within the assistive technology sector having gained the knowledge and skills related to product development, design, and manufacturing.
