The Master in Civil Engineering (MSc) will give students a comprehensive overview of what it takes to deliver a successful civil engineering project. They will learn the advanced capabilities and in-depth knowledge needed to thrive in their civil engineering career and solve work challenges such as environmental sustainability.
Students will develop their research skills by completing a dissertation. This can be on a topic they want to explore further, or it can be related to an industrial placement, which they will have the opportunity to apply to undertake. Both forms of dissertation will be supported by academic staff.

Industry Placement
Students will be registered on the MSc Civil Engineering, which includes a research project. All students will get the opportunity to apply to undertake an industrial placement as an alternative to the research project. Placements, subject to availability, are on a competitive basis and are subject to an application and interview with the placement provider. If successful, students will be moved on to the MSc Civil Engineering with Industrial Practise.
