Program Description

The master in Data Analytics and Financial Technology (MSc) is a joint Inter-university Degree Study Programme between the Department of Administrative Science and Technology and the Department of Accounting and Finance of the Hellenic Mediterranean University (GR) and the Department of Accounting and Finance and the Department of Computer Science of Neapolis University Pafos.

It leads to a joint Master’s Degree of Studies of the two Higher Education Institutions without requiring a recognition process by D.O.A.T.A.P. The master in Data Analytics and Financial Technology (MSc) is aimed primarily at graduates of Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, and Computer Science.

Objective of the Program

The master in Data Analytics and Financial Technology (MSc) aims to develop a high level of research and educate graduates in the field of finance and computer science at the postgraduate level through the ten courses offered.

The master in Data Analytics and Financial Technology (MSc) arms the student with a very wide theoretical and practical arsenal of knowledge and analytical skills so that he/she can comprehend and develop the subject of data analysis and financial technology. The aim is also to educate students appropriately so that they develop critical thinking with the ultimate objective of producing research on the subject matter.

Upon the successful completion of the master in Data Analytics and Financial Technology (MSc) students will be able to:

  • Define different theories and concepts to explain financial and insurance issues and make decisions in businesses, financial institutions and insurance companies and insurance funds.
  • Apply financial and quantitative skills and select the appropriate decision-making tools in practical financial and insurance problems, proposing applicable solutions.
  • Critically evaluate the existing literature and empirically examine research hypotheses.
  • Demonstrate originality, insight and the ability to adapt to complex and unpredictable situations and environments in order to make informed decisions.
  • Use information technology (computing tools, econometric software and databases) and innovative computer science technologies to interpret and analyse corporate, financial and banking data.
  • Comprehend and critically evaluate the practical applications of financial theories and techniques and how they are used in the financial and insurance sector and in the wider economy.
  • Apply techniques and analyses in finance, investments and banking to conduct independent research.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively in group situation and manage conflict situations.
