Program Description

With this degree in Journalism (BA) you’ll learn traditional skills that underpin all types of journalism, along with a huge range of multimedia skills to make you more employable.

Add to that entrepreneurialism and rigorous academic education, and our journalism graduates have the best chance of success in a tough market. Three weeks’ works experience forms a vital part of this journalism degree, and we will help you get your work published and build your CV.

Court visits are integral to this journalism degree, as are interview techniques, which are developed during live Newsday simulations, including an annual police press conference. Mobile journalism or ‘mojo’ is now a key element of the course with cutting-edge workshops on smartphone reporting and production.

Throughout your Journalism degree, you will learn from a wide range of industry professionals, including our own teaching staff and visiting lecturers from the BBC, ITV, magazines, and the national and local press.
