    Program Description

    Studying for the bachelor in Economics and Mathematics (BSc) at UL will give you a firm foundation in the theory and applications of mathematics and economics. You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of micro and macroeconomics.

    You’ll get to grips with core concepts such as supply and demand, as well as developing your skills in econometrics. And your mathematics learning will give you a solid grounding in algebra, calculus, probability, statistics, and more.

    Curriculum

    Year 1

    In your first year, you’ll study key topics in mathematics, statistics, and economics. You’ll gain a solid foundation on which you’ll build more specialist knowledge in subsequent years. Topics include core mathematics and statistics as well as economic theory.

    Year 2

    Your second year builds on the knowledge you acquired in the first year, with more in-depth modules on statistics, microeconomics, and macroeconomics. You'll also broaden your knowledge base through a wide range of optional modules in mathematics, economics, and econometrics.

    Year 3

    In the third year, you'll undertake a substantial project in mathematics or economics, which gives you the opportunity to investigate a topic at the cutting edge of knowledge and develop vital skills such as carrying out independent research. You’ll work collaboratively with your supervisor throughout the project, who’ll be an expert in your research area.
