Program Description

Our degree in accounting and finance provides the knowledge and skills you need to kick-start your career. If you have two years of study on a related course, you can join this degree in the final year. Our modules cover advanced accounting, finance, and strategic management, giving you the tools to thrive in the sector.

The course is accredited by ACCA. This means that if you successfully complete the relevant modules, you'll receive exemption from six of ACCA's foundation-level papers.

With the City of London on your doorstep, there are splendid career opportunities. Our accounting and finance graduates have gone on to work for KPMG, Grant Thornton and Barclays Investment Bank, as well as pursuing graduate study.

Important Information:

  • If your English language qualification is below the standard requirements listed above, you may be eligible for our online pre-sessional English (PSE) programme.
  • If you do not currently hold an IELTS and think you might need a pre-sessional English programme to reach the required level, you can also take the University's English Language Test (UOGELT). If you do not achieve the required score for direct entry, you will be eligible to study our online pre-sessional course using your UOGELT result.

Advanced Financial Accounting (15 credits)
Finance (30 credits)
Strategic Financial Management (30 credits)

Students are required to choose 30 credits from this list of options:
Ethics and Corporate Governance (30 credits)
Audit and Assurance (30 credits)
Taxation: Regulation and Practice (30 credits)

Careers

  • Graduates entering the accountancy profession may go into public practice by joining an accountancy firm.
  • This can offer you the experience of working with multiple clients across various industries or the opportunity to specialise, for example, in auditing, stockbroking or consultancy.
  • Recent positions secured by our graduates include assurance associate at Grant Thornton, financial modeller at KPMG and counter risk trader at Barclays Investment Bank.
