Program Description

The Bachelor in Interior Design (Πτυχίο σε Interior Design) at AUCY provides a multidisciplinary approach of a wide spectrum of design strategies – from traditional methods, such as sketching, to advanced computer-assisted methodologies – aiming at holistic and contemporary notions of inhabitable space.

At the same time, students receive the foundations of a humanistic and universal education, which nurtures their identity and empowers ethics and purpose for tomorrow’s profession.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the basic elements of visual perception and design processes used to communicate ideas through different mediums.
  • Study the foundations of visual composition and the design strategies, used for their projects' development.
  • Develop their conceptual awareness of their perceptual skills to generate their original ideas.
  • Become critical thinkers and innovative problem solvers using in parallel ethics, esthetics, and quantitative and qualitative techniques applied to specific appoaches and .methodologies on Designing attractive -but also functional- residential spaces.
  • Compose, develop and analyzetheir visual outcomes, regarding built environments. Integrate digital design into the decision -making process in a productive and successful way.
  • Demonstrating understanding of a methodology of tasks, including, finding, evaluating, analyzing, and synthesizing appropriate sources.
  • Develop a visual diary where they will formulate the main project question find and manage scientific literature, avoiding plagiarism, and start drafting their proposals.
  • Excel in teamwork through group work in studios and workshops and develop creative skills in expressing and communicating their design projects both to specialized and non-specialized audiences.
  • Apply knowledge and innovation within a portfolio exhibiting aesthetic and ethical Design approaches and competence for analysis and synthesis.
