Program Description

This animation degree covers a range of subjects, from 2D and 3D animation and storytelling to the technical computing skills you need for animation practice. Optional modules help you develop specific skills for work in games, VFX, film and television. These skills are also useful for other industries, such as design, advertising, or architecture and medical imaging.

To join this degree, you should ideally have a background in art/design and have attempted creative production of some kind, such as photography, video or fine art. The key is to show great visual communication skills.

  • Applicants with professional qualifications and/or four years of full-time work experience will be considered on an individual basis.

Alternative English language requirements:

  • Apolytirion with grade 17 in English.
  • University of Greenwich English Language Test (OIETC): Overall grade B2+ with B2 in each skill.

  • Applicants to whom the University wishes to consider making an offer will first be required to submit a portfolio and/or undertake an assessment AND will also be interviewed.

Recognition of prior learning:

  • You should have a background in traditional or digital art, or have experimented with creative production of some kind, such as photography, drawing or video work.

Important Information:

  • If your English language qualification is below the standard requirements listed above, you may be eligible for our online pre-sessional English (PSE) programme.
  • If you do not currently hold an IELTS and think you might need a pre-sessional English programme to reach the required level, you can also take the University's English Language Test (UOGELT). If you do not achieve the required score for direct entry, you will be eligible to study our online pre-sessional course using your UOGELT result.
