Nyack College prepares mental health professionals for work in a variety of contexts. The Master in Mental Health Counseling (MA) combines a Christian worldview with sound counseling principles and prepares students for professional counseling that effectively addresses others' needs. Graduates meet all academic licensing requirements in New York State.
The Master in Mental Health Counseling (MA) is also a faith-based program. There are three additional credits for theology and mental health counseling. It is one of the most diverse programs in New York. Faculty and student populations are diverse. As part of a Christian academic community, you will interact with students and professors representing various ethnicities, countries, and denominations. This will enrich your educational experience and give you additional depth as a counselor. You will also have the opportunity to travel abroad as part of a Global Service-Learning course, an exciting experience that will move your classroom to another region of the world.
