Journalism and Communication

School of Journalism and New Media of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China, offers a master program, journalism and communication, to students at home and abroad. Guiding by major national and local needs, aiming at first-class disciplines, we mainly focus on five research areas, such as new media and social governance, big data public opinion and government new media, data journalism and visualization, new media and political communication, and new media and cultural communication. We will continue to expand research areas and form distinctive scientific research advantages.

Our program aims at developing students' overall ability, including excellent academic quality, solid and broad theoretical foundation, systematic and in-depth professional knowledge, rigorous and realistic scientific attitude, as well as the ability to independently engage in scientific research in related disciplines and innovation. International applicants for the program can apply to any of the areas above, and foreign applicants taking class together with local students.
