The Master in Identity, Education and Competences for Democratic Culture is the first MA program marking an international collaboration between 3 Departments of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Theology, Philology and Educational Studies) and the European Wergeland Centre of the Council of Europe. All the collaborating entities provide their expertise on Competences for Democratic Culture and insights on their implementation in Education.
The aim of the program is to disseminate democracy at all educational levels and processes through the training of teachers and professionals with an interest in education (formal, non-formal, informal) of any specialty in the Competences for Democratic Culture, placing human rights and the processes of identity formation at the centre of the educational process.
The Master in Identity, Education and Competences for Democratic Culture program's main objective is to offer scientific expertise in the new field of Competences for Democratic Culture with a focus on their implementation in Education, formal, non-formal and informal, through all specialties and educational levels. Above all, the vision is to help disseminate Democracy in Education, so that everyone acts and lives their everyday life democratically, respecting Human Rights.
