Program Description

Built on the principles of ‘real world learning’, this is the only hotel and hospitality management degree in the UK that is run in conjunction with a five-star hotel, The Celtic Manor Resort. Our ground-breaking collaboration with Celtic Manor aims to produce the next generation of skilled hotel and hospitality managers.

Through a combination of classroom-based learning and practical experience, you’ll gain a detailed understanding of every aspect of the hotel business, as well as exposure to the workings of a five-star venue. You will have the opportunity to develop practical and professional skills from the ground up. You will be given exposure to industry experts from all areas of the hotel and hospitality industry, on-the-job training, interactive workshops and individual coaching sessions.

The practical learning is underpinned by theory, so you will learn about the concepts of hospitality operations and management in the classroom at USW’s Newport City Campus.

Please note that due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and based on student feedback, we have reviewed the course structure and delivery patterns for future years. This course page has been updated to reflect revised arrangements, subject to final confirmation from Celtic Manor.
