During the Bachelor in Social Work (BA) at Solent University, students will develop a thorough grounding in social work theory, as well as the skills, values and first-hand experience which is key to making a difference to the lives of vulnerable people.

The first two years of this degree concentrate on learning the basis of social work theory, as well as looking at subjects such as law and sociology. For their final year, students can choose to specialise in adults or children and families to focus their career path upon graduation.
During the Bachelor in Social Work (BA) program, students will complete two significant periods of work experience in either local authorities or voluntary, private and independent organisations in the region. The university has partnership arrangements for practice learning placements with four local authorities, as well as many other social care organisations.
The program is approved by Social Work England.
