This course combines modules from mathematics and astrophysics. Mathematical models and their applications are behind today's scientific developments. Physics is the most fundamental of the sciences, concerned with the nature and properties of matter and energy.
During the Bachelor in Mathematics and Astrophysics (BSc) at University of Dundee, students will study both pure and application-driven mathematics. By the time they finish their degree, they will be able to use math to solve practical problems. Computers are used extensively in modern math and the program will introduce students to various mathematical software, preparing them for the industry.
At the same time, students study Astrophysics. They will learn fundamental physics, from astronomical phenomena to quantum mechanics. As the Bachelor in Mathematics and Astrophysics (BSc) course progresses, they'll study topics such as space physics and astronomy, stars and planetary systems, galaxies, and the universe.
