The Department of English Language and Literature has two significant and complementary aims. First and foremost we wish to develop our students' knowledge of English to the extent that they grasp and use language with ease and competence.
Secondly, we want them to approach literary texts from a broad historical and cross-cultural perspective to equip them with the strategies necessary to work and live in today's globalized world. Required courses in sociology, psychology, and communicative sciences contribute to the achievement of these aims.
