Globalisation is shaping the world in which we live. In the Bachelor in International Studies (BA) at Leiden University, students have the opportunity to study one of eight world regions within the context of global interactions. At the same time, they will learn a key language of their chosen region and acquire skills that will prove to be highly valuable for their future career.
During this program, students will gain deep knowledge of one of eight world regions by studying its politics, economy, history and culture, and local language. They will gain the ability to view regional issues from a global perspective, preparing them to play a crucial role in an increasingly globalised and interconnected world.
The Bachelor in International Studies (BA) will provide students with the tools to explore and analyse the forces of globalisation and their impact around the world. The program's multifaceted approach will allow students to interpret and analyse the world from a humanities perspective. In order to be able to do this, they will explore the historical and cultural background of the region of their choice, as well as its political and economic developments.
