The Department aims to provide academic education in the fields of language, culture and literature and enrich this educational process with the minor programs planned to be opened and conduct research in the field. As it is to introduce and teach Western culture and literature in our globalising world, it also aims to strengthen comparative, analytical and critical thinking abilities, equipping its students with the knowledge of literary theories, and to ensure that they continue qualified studies on literary texts. The courses offered, such as mass communication, literary language analysis, translation, language-culture relationship, critical theories, and linguistics, prepare students for their graduate programs and professional careers.
