The American Culture and Literature (English) program aims to stimulate intellectual enquiry that explores Western culture in general and American culture in particular. It is designed to develop students' skills in critical thinking and problem-solving as well as to equip them with the kind of intercultural competence that will be suitable for a variety of professions.
Besides courses aiming to enhance students' skills in oral and written English, the curriculum includes courses enabling them to analyze American culture and literature from literary, historical, and critical perspectives. The aim of this program is to have graduates who are competent in the field of American Culture and Literature, who are highly proficient in English and who can think critically.
