The Architecture (International Year One) program at Newcastle University prepares students for the second year of their undergraduate degree in Architecture at Newcastle University.
This course covers functional, aesthetic and technical aspects of architecture and teaches students how to implement this in their designs. Students will use computer-aided drawing, but the emphasis is on manual creativity and design skills.
This course is suitable for those who need to improve their English language study skills within the context of architecture, want guidance and advice on developing their architecture ideas and expand their skills and knowledge in various areas.
Such areas include sketching, drawing and model making, a comprehensive design project and the development of an architectural portfolio, as well as studying world architecture in its historic context. Students will also learn how to research, analyse and present their work effectively.
Successful completion of Architecture (International Year One) will lead to the Certificate of Higher Education (FHEQ Level 4).
There may be additional costs by this university.
