Throughout the Bachelor in Medicine (MBChB) at University of Dundee, students will mainly be based at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. However, there are other opportunities for placements in hospitals and general practice in other areas of Scotland.

The program curriculum starts with a foundation block which explores the fundamental science that underpins medicine – this will help students think like a doctor and begin clinical problem-solving.

For the first three years of the Bachelor in Medicine (MBChB), students will learn about body systems, examining normal and abnormal functions before exploring clinical cases. They will also learn anatomy by dissection.

After the first three years, students will have the option to intercalate and gain a BMSc in a range of subjects, but whether they decide to do this or not, at Levels 4 and 5, they will move into clinical training. This is a series of placements that will give them a well-rounded experience in a number of clinical areas, and enable students to put their training into practice at the point of care for real patients in real healthcare settings.

This course is accredited by the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM).
