A Paramedic provides specialist care and essential treatment to patients of all ages in a variety of dynamic emergency and urgent healthcare settings. Very often the first emergency service and healthcare expert on scene, they can administer a range of life-saving treatments and provide vital information and support to people suffering from a variety of traumatic injuries and/or medical problems.
As a student Paramedic, this course aims to prepare you to face the challenges that come with providing emergency and urgent care to an ageing and diverse population in the pre-hospital and out-of-hospital environment. It is designed to enable you to become an effective, evidence-informed paramedic able and confident to deliver potentially life-saving treatment.
This course uses Coventry University’s ‘learning through exploration’ approach which uses simulation and hands-on learning to develop your knowledge and understanding. This includes the use of our replica ambulance, practicing extraction of patients from cars and using high-tech manikins which emulate real patient responses.
