Geography studies the relationships between dynamic environments and populations in different locations and at multiple scales. During the Bachelor in Geography (BSc) at University of Dundee students will learn about major challenges facing the world, and develop creative skills in problem solving, presentation, and communication.
This flexible course allows students to specialise in Human Geography or Physical Geography, or combine elements of both. Teaching is based on research carried out in the department. It focuses on three broad themes: creating just communities and places, shaping environmental futures, and geospatial and digital methods.
Bachelor in Geography (BSc) will cover specialisms within these themes including: glacial and hydrological landscapes and processes, biogeography and reconstructing past environments, natural hazards and risk and in the application of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and remote sensing.
Students will investigate issues in our changing world, including climate change, sustainability, land degradation and inequality patterns. Throughout their degree there will be an emphasis on gaining practical skills and 'doing' geography.
This course has been accredited by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG).
