NIC’s tourism and hospitality programs focus on the business skills needed for supervisors and managers in this exciting and fast-paced industry. You’ll develop strong accounting, marketing, events management, communication, and leadership skills, enabling you to compete effectively for rewarding positions in the global tourism industry.
In your first year, you’ll develop your management skills through a combination of theory-based and applied courses. Principles of accounting and marketing are quickly put into practice as you hone your skills, on-campus at the Third Course Bistro and through the creation of special events.
Depending on your professional objectives, you will choose a specialty in year two - hospitality or tourism - and complete a four-month internship with employers like Old House Hotel and Spa, Kingfisher Oceanside Resort and
Spa, Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community, Naturally Pacific Resort (Campbell River), Fairmont Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Westerly Hotel, WestJet and Air Canada.
