Objective of the Program

The Master’s Degree Programme in History is unique with many options and opportunities. It is set up in a modern scientific structure with international scientific standards offering students high standards of education and scientific training in an enlightening and entertaining modern manner.

Purpose of Programme:

The Programme aims to provide graduates with the right scientific skills and broader training for those especially interested in History. The Programme is geared towards graduates of philosophy and educational backgrounds and graduates of political science, sociology, European studies, journalism and other similar departments and schools. In the ‘History of Civilization’ direction, graduates of higher schools of fine arts and music schools are accepted.

It offers an opportunity for training and professional development to teachers, civil servants and other professionals and the opportunity to young graduates for specialized training and acquisition of additional qualifications. The purpose is pursuing a more comprehensive understanding of history, the importance and diffusion of it in the modern world.

Main objectives: Familiarity with old and current history and critical analysis of historical texts. Obtaining research experience for further research and studies. Specialized training on specific historical subjects capable of providing expert analysis of issues with the current reality of their historical background.

Course Instruction: Three courses per semester will be offered. For each course, 36 hours of instruction are required. The courses are three-hours each and will be offered in 12 weeks. In case of absence courses must be completed in consultation with the Professor.
