Program Description

This degree course will take you on a journey through the topical crime issues of the day and the criminal justice responses to them, as well as their portrayal in the media. Using case studies of real-life criminals, academic research and interactive learning sessions, you’ll gain a deep understanding of critical criminological debates. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your own specific research interests in your final year dissertation.

For students who have citizens' rights after Brexit tuition fees are £9,250 per year.

Alternative English language requirements:

  • Our preferred tests are IELTS, TOEFL iBT (80 overall and a minimum of 17 in Writing and Listening, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking) and Pearson PTE ( 57 overall and a minimum of 51 in all components), so we recommend you take one of these if possible. We also recognise the following qualifications/tests:
  1. Trinity College: Integrated Skills in English (ISE)
  2. LanguageCert International ESOL SELT tests
  3. International English Language Competency Assessment (IELCA)

Important Information:

  • If you don't meet our English language requirements, we offer a range of courses which could help you achieve the level required for entry. We also provide our own English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT) in the UK and overseas.
  • If you've completed study at university level in the UK or your home country you may be eligible to enter directly into Year 2 or 3 of a related degree course at ARU.
