Program Description

The main educational goal within European Studies is to provide a student with in-depth training in politics, history, international relations, language and contemporary culture of modern European countries. Students take courses in international relations, economics, politics, security, history and culture of European countries, diplomatic etiquette, intercultural communication, foreign languages.

An integral part of the educational process is classes in foreign languages. The programme includes the study of two European languages, the main of which is English recognized as the language of international communication and diplomacy, a second language is chosen by students themselves.

Dual-Degree Programme is successfully realized together with Edinburgh Napier University (UK).

Course plan:

From 1 to 3 academic years - BA programme at the Institute of Foreign Languages, RUDN University, Regional Studies – European Studies.

4 academic year: Level 10 studies (60 ECTS) of the extended BA of Arts programme, specialty “Languages and intercultural communication – Regional Studies” at Edinburgh Napier University (UK).

Practice

The eighth semester is devoted to the practical and research activity in European Studies.

Students acquire professional skills working in various international foundations and institutions, embassies, cultural and information centres.

Their practical research activity mainly takes place in famous Russian and Scottish scientific libraries and institutions. Bachelor’s papers are written under the supervision of prominent professors.
